</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Ingredients:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">200g Coconut Milk</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">4 Eggs (Medium Size)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">150g Caster Sugar</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">4 tsp pandan juice</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Method:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">1. Insert butterfly, add all ingredients into TM bowl to cook. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Use MC, Time: 20 mins, Temp: 90C, Speed 2</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">2. Remove butterfly, blend to get a smooth texture</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Use MC, Time: 20 sec, Temp: -, Speed 0-4</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Caramelised Version of Kaya</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">If you do not have Pandan leaves to make Pandan Juice, you can caramelised the sugar. All you need to do is take 30g of the 150g caster sugar and place in a pot and caramelised the sugar by heating the sugar until it turns into a brown syrup and from the top of the lid add it to step 1 in the last 10 mins of cooking.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I personally like the caramelised version of Kaya but the Pandan version is also good.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I used fresh coconut milk as it is so readily available in Malaysia. For those of you living overseas, you can try the can or packet coconut milk or maybe the powdered coconut milk. You may need to reduce the amount of liquid as it maybe too liquidy. A good fresh coconut milk is squeezed with a machine with no added water.</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3667894145912086989.post-71661921106593494842010-05-14T06:06:00.000-07:002010-05-14T06:11:55.687-07:00Cooking White RiceOnce i brought back this wonderful machine and placed it in a prime position on my kitchen counter top, my first mission was to figure out how to use it. <br />
<br />
So being chinese, eating rice was the top priority. So i set about following the instructions in the Malaysian Cookbook. Followed the instructions to the T and I see the water bubbling over the measuring cup, so a call to my very nice manager solved this issue . So here is the recipe for cooking white rice.<br />
<br />
Due to the capacity restrictions of the simmering basket, the Thermomix can cook upto 4 cups of the MC. <br />
<br />
1. Place 2 MC cups (for 2 people) of white rice in the simmering basket .<br />
2. Wash the rice either with Thermomix or in the sink.<br />
3. Insert simmering basket in the Thermomix and add enough water to just cover the rice.<br />
4. Set time for 15 mins, Temperature: 100C, Speed 4<br />
<br />
Speed has to be 4 to ensure that the rice is cooked through. If not the top part of the rice may not be cooked.<br />
<br />

</div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The rice came out fluffy and so yummy . It was not sticky like when you cook it in a rice cooker. For young children drinking the white rice water is good. For adults, not so good.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">If you are using Brown Rice, the rice water you can add some seaweed and miso and make a simple soup. For brown rice you need to cook for 20 mins so i have been told . I love to eat white rice. Brown Rice not so but i heard it is good for you .Hehe</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
